Smith Bell's involvement in insurance spans over 175 years, dating back to 1849 when it was first appointed agent of Imperial Insurance Company, Ltd. Over the decades that followed, Smith Bell built a strong reputation as a trusted insurance intermediary, serving as general agent for several prestigious international insurance companies in the Philippines.
To better serve its clients, Smith Bell established a dedicated insurance subsidiary. Smith Bell Insurance Brokers, Inc. was incorporated in 1979, drawing on the full depth of experience of Smith Bell's Insurance Department. In 2011, the company was renamed
Smith Bell Insurance Agency, Inc. (SBIAI), reflecting its continued evolution as a professional insurance intermediary.
